From farm to fork
Where possible, we try to supply food from our own farms to our outside catering business.
Both Argill House and Bleathgill are Hill Farms situated in the Upper Eden Valley in Cumbria and on the edge of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
At Bleathgill a large flock of Swaledale sheep graze the Stainmore Common and the British Blue cross cattle occupy the lower land. Home reared pigs are always available from the farm yard and farm fresh turkeys at Christmas. Bleathgill is in a Higher Entry Level Stewardship Scheme to help preserve the wildlife living in the area and the farming traditions of dry stone walling and hedging as well as maintenance of traditional barns.
Argill is farmed alongside a hill farm in the Yorkshire Dale of Swaledale. Again a flock of Swaledale sheep roam the Angram Common and British Blue cross cattle live on the better grazing. Argill is in an environmental stewardship scheme and the river running through the farm is a site of special scientific interest.

Our homemade burgers are tasty and very succulent and extremely popular at events, shows and barbecues. Great in a bun or with a salad.
Our sausage is similar to Cumberland but made to our own secret recipe. Popular at all our outside catering events served as a canapé, in a bun or as a plated meal.
Wilf’s pigs are used, where possible, for our hog roasts. Extremely tender, full of flavour and of course lots of crispy crackling.
Bleathgill’s home reared Turkeys are ready for the Christmas period. Fell and Dales Outside Catering Christmas Dinners are a very popular choice.
Keith and Wilf’s Swaledale Lambs slowly mature on the Heather Moorlands of Stainmore and Swaledale which inevitably improves the flavour of the meat. Whole Roast Lamb, slowly cooked in our hog roast machine is a very popular choice or marinated and cooked on a barbecue or roasted joints for your wedding breakfast.
Our British Blue and Limousin Cross Beef is extremely versatile. Our homemade traditional steak and ale pies, lasagnes, steaks for the barbecue, roasts for that special occasion, sliced cold for buffets or slowly cooked in the hog roast machine.
